The ADF Secretariat is pleased to announce that the first ADF Newsletter is issued on 31 March, 2005. This bi-monthly Newsletter starts off with two contributions from ADF members. Dr. Khabele Matlosa of Lesotho discusses the South African Development Council (SADC) principles and guidelines on elections and the challenges to their implementation in forthcoming elections in the region. Mr. Yona Wanjala of Uganda then presents a panorama of challenges to governance in Africa while at the same time indicating possible solutions. The newsletter also includes reports on the ADF activities and a profile of an ADF member organization: Africa Governance Alert - Cameroon. All members are encouraged to send comments to the Secretariat, and to make contributions (articles, profiles, reports on activities, etc.) to the next issue of the Newsletter.
