About IACJP – Gender Resource Centre:

The International Association of Criminal Justice Practitioners is an association of professionals from diverse background.  It was founded in 2002 as a result of the entry into force of the Rome Statue establishing the International Criminal Court and the ratification of the Transnational Organized Crimes Convention including the Protocol on Trafficking in Women and Migrants by the Nigerian Government.  Its main objective is to respond to gaps in legal and social advocacy for Nigerians who are often victims of violence, crime, trafficking, and corrupt practices.  The Gender Resource Centre is a unit of IACJP.  It works in collaboration with other NGOs to advocate for social, economic and political rights of women.  It also advocates for economic empowerment through learning, provision of micro-credits, and legal aid services.

IACJP is affiliated to the International Criminal Bar. Its members are actively represented on the International Media Lawyers Association (IMLA), and the African Democracy Forum.
